Scudda Hey (1988)

After the demise of Nugenes Scudda Hey was formed with Jodi and Sonny (The Name taken from a Marilyn Monroe movie Scudda Hoo, Scudda Hay).  There was a few line up changes and attempts until one day Jodi brought Trish to a rehearsal.  The two voices just gelled and have so ever since especially in ‘The Clouds’  and later when they toured together as ‘The Girls from The Clouds’.

The original line-up was Jodi (Vocals/guitar), Trish (Vocals/Bass), Rob (Guitar) Sonny (Drums) and myself on keys. We didn’t perform a great number of gigs but was the chance for Jodi to feature both as a vocalist and a great song writer. The first gig was at the Harold Park Hotel on 17th December 1988.

Scudda Hey was difficult for publicists and journalists to get right (wrong spelling etc etc) so the name was changed to The Clouds after a song Jodi wrote-Cloud Factory.  The original recording of Cloud Factory was by the above line up at Trafalgar studios (I have the tape) and was not the same recording that was released by The Clouds months later.
